Project 52 – No 31. Interlacing shadows and lines

14 11 2010

Last Tuesday evening, I was admiring the interlacing shadows cast by the steel fence from the multiple lights around the track on campus. Then I saw a runner coming by, so naturally I took a photograph! If you look closely, you’ll see subtle striping in the shadows around the runner’s head and across the fence posts. That’s from a more distant light shining at a different angle from the primary light.  I liked how the runner’s shadow linked the hard opposing lines on the track and the fence, and the feeling of ephemera as the runner’s shadow stretched by.
