Project 52 – No. 47. A squirrel and its peach in a tree.

27 07 2010

Ecogirl here. I am just back from China. Yesterday, while shaking off my jet lag by walking around the neighbourhood, I glimpsed a squirrel with a treasure which it had found in a parking lot – a whole peach!  The squirrel was rather possessive of its fruit and seemed worried that I’d climb up the tree and try to take the peach away.   Instead, I took pictures of the black squirrel clambering higher and higher up the tree with its peach, which was nearly half of its size. Very impressive display of jaw strength, climbing agility and tenaciousness.
